Hello Hello!
On Monday May 18th Brian Campbell and I were given the opportunity to meet with Castore (Rangers FC’s new retail partner) co-founder Tom Beahon to introduce NARSA to him and vice versa. The meeting went very well and from this first conversation we can tell that they have been carefully selected and are a partner with a similar strategic vision to Rangers FC in terms of growth opportunity and appropriate servicing the market i.e. our supporters. You may have already seen Rangers and other fan media outlets communicate information on their interviews with Tom, and ours was no different both in terms of the information Tom shared on the opportunities presented for Rangers, and for the cautious optimism that the call gave us. Our recent dealings with Hummel and Elite Sports placed us in an advantageous position to let them know what worked and what did not for our market and membership.
This is the first time in a number of years that we have a retail partner who will not be bound by the shackles of previous arrangements with regards to Sports Direct and any other external influences that hampered their abilities to truly benefit from the relationship. It is a positive start to the relationship in terms of Castore (and Rangers’ own marketing team) prioritizing fan engagement early on, but as we said to him on the call ‘the proof is in the pudding’ (in terms of product quality and service delivery) which he completely agreed with, with an air of confidence that conveyed that they know what they’re letting themselves in for.
Next steps are that we will be exchanging ideas related to their brand awareness and expansion in North America, and for Castore to provide us with a single point of contact who would be our point person going forward.
It was a very good start and I look forward to working with them closely going forward to see where we can help and gain material benefit for Rangers FC and our membership moving forward.
We will keep everyone posted with what we know as we move forward. In the meantime should you have any questions, comments, or suggestions please don’t hesitate to reach out.
